NOAA Satellite Requirements and Data Specifications
In order to effectively leverage commercial capabilities to meet NOAA mission needs, NOAA has engaged directly with the commercial sector in several fora to provide information and seek input. Increasing understanding of NOAA mission needs is a key piece of this information exchange. Below are documents that provide requirements from many current programs and examples of data specifications that NOAA has recently requested from industry.
NOAA understands the state-of-the-art is developing rapidly across all sectors for space-based capabilities for weather observations, so any future request for information or proposals from the commercial sector will reflect NOAA’s most up-to-date observational needs and understanding of capabilities at that time. These documents are provided for information only as a demonstration of the capabilities NOAA’s satellite programs currently provide.
