Public Meeting on October 2024 Space Export Control Rulemakings
On Wednesday, November 6, the Department of Commerce (DOC) will host a public meeting to discuss the four space export control rulemakings released by DOC and the State Department on October 17, 2024.
The meeting will feature speakers from the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), and DOC’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
Participants will have an opportunity to pose questions directly to the export control regulators prior to filing individual comments into the relevant public dockets. The due date for comments on the Proposed Rules and Interim Final Rule is November 22, 2024.
This meeting will not seek to establish industry consensus on any topic.

Venue
The event will take place in person at the Commerce Research Library in the Herbert C. Hoover Building, 1401 Constitution Ave., NW, with a hybrid option for virtual participation.
Registration
Advance registration is required whether attending in person or online. We will accept in-person registrations on a first come, first served basis up to the capacity of the room (~80 people).
We recommend non-U.S. citizens choose the virtual option due to the challenges associated with building access. We cannot guarantee foreign national visitors will be processed in time to permit entrance.
The Office of Space Commerce will send confirmations and building entry instructions to those who are cleared to attend in person. Unless you receive such confirmation, please plan to attend virtually.

We encourage you to submit written questions for the briefers ahead of the event. Written questions will be prioritized for discussion at the event. There will be limited time to address questions beyond those submitted in advance. Please use the registration form to submit written questions.
