TraCSS is the Department of Commerce’s enterprise solution for promoting spaceflight safety through the coordination of space traffic. TraCSS ingests, archives, processes, and disseminates space situational awareness (SSA) data and products.

TraCSS provides conjunction analysis and warning services to satellite owner/operators (O/O’s) and will expand to provide data and services, including launch and re-entry timeframes. The system will store data from the Department of Defense, NOAA, commercial SSA data providers, and satellite O/O’s. TraCSS will operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

TraCSS is a modular IT system with well-defined interfaces to enable replacement of elements, including the system integrator. The current prime contractor for TraCSS system integration is on contract through March 2025 with an option to extend through March 2026.

OSC is conducting market research in preparation for a contracting action, anticipated in calendar year 2025, to establish the follow on System Integrator effort. OSC seeks a company capable of being the future prime contractor for TraCSS. The company must have experience in the SSA domain, experience operating and maintaining high-impact IT operations, and the ability to maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO) while integrating third-party data and services.

Further specifics about the requirements for the future System Integrator are in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) in the Sources Sought notice.
