Office of Space Commerce Solicits White Papers for TraCSS Research & Technology Development

On March 14, 2025, the Office of Space Commerce issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) requesting white papers that could lead to proposals and funded research to enhance and advance space situational awareness (SSA) and space traffic coordination (STC) technologies.

On April 10, 2025, the Office of Space Commerce issued an amendment to the BAA.

OSC is interested in white papers on the topics of SSA data, conjunction assessment, risk assessment, and general SSA technologies. To be eligible for consideration and possible contract award, the technology or methodology shall be either basic research, applied research, advanced technology development not for a specific system/hardware, or demonstration and validation.

An interested party must submit a white paper in order to be eligible for further consideration. Only white papers will be accepted as initial submissions; formal proposals will be accepted by invitation only. 

The due date for white paper submissions is May 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. ET. 

Community Day & BAA Questions & Answers

OSC held a virtual community day on the BAA on April 3, 2025. This community day provided prospective offerors information regarding the BAA and offer interested members of the public the opportunity to ask questions about the BAA or Areas of Interest/Research.

The BAA Q&A posted below is in response to the first tranche of questions received prior to and during the BAA community day.

Additional questions arising from topics covered during the community day shall be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer by April 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. ET, and will be posted no later than April 30, 2025.
