OSC Discusses Space Standards on ATARC Podcast

Technical standards play a critical role in enabling interoperability, driving cost efficiency, and accelerating innovation across the space industry.

To foster economic growth and technological advancement of the U.S. commercial space industry, the Office of Space Commerce (OSC) participates in the development and promotion of space technical standards by standards development organizations and by coordination groups led by government agencies and trade organizations. OSC is particularly involved in standards related to space situational awareness data sharing and coordination, which is essential to the Traffic Coordination System for Space.

OSC’s Dr. Dianne Poster recently joined the ATARC (Advanced Technology Academic Research Center) “Space and Defense Innovation Launchpad” podcast to discuss OSC’s role in establishing standards, guidelines, and best practices to address emerging industry challenges, such as space cybersecurity and orbital debris mitigation.
