Space Commerce Certification: Call for Interest

Pursuant to Section 5 of Executive Order 14335, “Enabling Competition in the Commercial Space Industry,” the Office of Space Commerce (OSC) seeks to implement a streamlined, unified, whole-of-government mission authorization framework for novel in-space activities. To refine this proposed Space Commerce Certification (SCC) framework, OSC is inviting expressions of interest from U.S. entities in participating in a pilot phase.

Under President Trump’s direction to “enable competition in the commercial space economy,” the United States Government is focused on unlocking the heavens for American commerce. To achieve this bold goal, the Office of Space Commerce encourages stakeholders to provide the Office with observations, input, and feedback regarding the health of the sector – helping us identify and address regulatory and policy roadblocks, barriers, or opportunities that impact the growth and global competitiveness of the sector. The Office of Space Commerce has created this “space commerce ideas inbox” to help facilitate stakeholder engagement.

RFI: Siting New Spaceports and Use of Priority Airspace for Critical Space Launch Corridors

The FAA is asking the public and industry for ideas on two big issues: where the U.S. should build new spaceports, and how it should set aside “priority airspace” for important space-launch routes. These initiatives support President Trump’s Executive Order Ensuring American Space Superiority and his 2026 National Space Transportation Policy.

In alignment with Executive Order 14335, “Enabling Competition in the Commercial Space Industry,” and Executive Order 14369, “Ensuring American Space Superiority,” the U.S. Government – through the U.S. Department of State – is seeking representatives from the commercial space sector to participate in in-person and/or virtual roundtable events on “American Leadership and Prosperity in Space.” Roundtables will be organized on the margins of U.S. and international space events. Events will solicit perspectives from U.S. commercial space industry representatives on how the Department of State can more effectively strengthen U.S. leadership and prosperity in space, including by partnering with U.S. industry and advocating for U.S. economic and business interests in international fora.
