Launch Mishap for Commercial Resupply Mission
A major launch anomaly marred yesterday’s attempt to deliver the next batch of cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) program.
It was to be the third CRS delivery to ISS using Orbital’s Cygnus spacecraft, and the seventh CRS delivery overall, including both Orbital and SpaceX missions.
According to NASA, “Today’s launch attempt will not deter us from our work to expand our already successful capability to launch cargo from American shores to the International Space Station.”
