USG Seeks Participation in Engagements with Commercial Space Stakeholders

In alignment with Executive Order 14335, “Enabling Competition in the Commercial Space Industry,” and Executive Order 14369, “Ensuring American Space Superiority,” the U.S. Government – through the U.S. Department of State – is seeking representatives from the commercial space sector to participate in in-person and/or virtual roundtable events on “American Leadership and Prosperity in Space.”
Roundtables will be organized on the margins of U.S. and international space events, including the 2026 Space Symposium conference on April 13-17, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Events will solicit perspectives from U.S. commercial space industry representatives on how the Department of State can more effectively strengthen U.S. leadership and prosperity in space, including by partnering with U.S. industry and advocating for U.S. economic and business interests in international fora.
The Office of Space Commerce likewise anticipates participating in these engagements.
Interested individuals should:
- Have extensive experience working in the space sector;
- Currently work for a U.S. commercial space company, trade association, or organization with substantive expertise in international space activities;
- Possess substantive knowledge of international and foreign legal and regulatory frameworks, policies, standards, and best practices for the peaceful uses of outer space; their impact on the U.S. commercial space industry; and the role of the U.S. Department of State in promoting and enabling the work of U.S. commercial space actors at the international level;
- Have specialized expertise in accessing emerging foreign space markets; building secure and resilient supply chains; exporting U.S. space-related goods and services; securing foreign investment in the U.S. space sector; and/or fostering growth in new sectors of the U.S. commercial space industry, including novel space activities and lunar activities.
If selected, individuals will be invited to participate in roundtable discussions and individual meetings hosted by the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Space Affairs.
Logistics:
- Events will take place from April 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
- During Space Symposium, April 13-17, 2026 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, participants may be asked to participate in discussions on two primary topics:
- Roundtable 1: Barriers and Opportunities for Domestic and Foreign Investment in the U.S. Space Economy
- Roundtable 2: Enabling Frameworks for the Commercial Lunar Economy
- Applicants may also request individual private meetings with the Office of Space Affairs (and the Office of Space Commerce) on the margins of Space Symposium (or other U.S. and international events) related to their international priorities.
- Additional virtual or in-person roundtable discussions may be organized on other topics such as foreign market entry and access, regulatory alignment and streamlining, advocacy, and international best practices for commercial space activities.
- Participants will not receive compensation for their time or travel expenses.

To express interest in participating in a roundtable or requesting an individual meeting, please submit the following material by March 23, 2026:
- A description of your organization (max 300 words);
- A brief summary of the event you are interested in requesting and topics you would like to discuss (max 500 words); and
- A curriculum vitae.
