Remarks from The Economist’s Space Economy Summit

On October 12, 2023, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves delivered virtual remarks at The Economist’s Space Economy Summit, addressing the Department of Commerce’s efforts to grow the space economy.

Among other topics, he discussed how the Department is working to improve space safety and sustainability, improving and speeding up remote sensing licensing, and expanding the customer base for U.S. commercial space goods and services. 

Deputy Secretary Graves also highlighted how NOAA is working to prioritize innovation in Earth observation capabilities to empower better decision making.
