OSC Co-Hosts Space Supply Chain Forum, Gathers Industry Perspectives

On August 18, in partnership with the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Office of Space Commerce hosted the second event of its “Commercial Space Competitiveness Forum” series, the “Commercial Space Supply Chain Forum.” 

The Forum brought together industry and government experts to examine industry ecosystem conditions, identify challenges, and brainstorm solutions that will strengthen the US commercial space supply chain.

With all Commercial Space Competitiveness Forums, OSC’s goal is to adopt the role of listener and provide a venue for discussion and collaboration.

The Forum begun with presentations from the US Small Business Administration’s Deputy Administrator, William ‘Bill’ Briggs; NASA’s Space Capital Office Director, William Taylor; the Office of Space Commerce’s Director, Taylor Jordan. An “Industry Perspective” presentation by the Aerospace Industries Association’s Vice President for Space Systems, Steve Jordan Tomaszewski, and PwC set the stage and introduced key themes across the supply chain. 

Forum host Theresa Quitto-Dickerson then opened the floor with an interactive presentation that encouraged participants to share real-time observations from across the ecosystem. Featured panels allowed government and industry leaders to hear directly from one another and view supply chain stresses from both sides, while hands-on breakout sessions tasked participants with targeting friction points and proposing potential solutions. 

The invaluable insights gathered will shape how OSC addresses emerging issues in the space supply chain and targets action toward signals that matter most to both government and commercial partners. We are grateful to all participants for sharing expertise and embracing collaboration.
