OSC Participates in “India-US Joint Space Situational Awareness Workshop”

From June 22-23, 2026, representatives of the Office of Space Commerce (OSC) and the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) hosted a 2-day “India-US Joint Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Workshop” in Bangalore, India. Convening government and industry experts in the SSA field, the workshop provided a historic forum to discuss concepts of operation for our respective systems. Participants identified opportunities for deeper collaboration to improve spaceflight safety for all satellite operators.

In addition to government-to-government discussions, OSC, ISRO, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) hosted an industry outreach session featuring updates regarding OSC’s Traffic Coordination System for Space. During the session, leading Indian non-government entities discussed opportunities for partnership in space traffic coordination and SSA services .

The engagement reflects the growing cooperation between India and the United States in promoting safe, sustainable and responsible use of outer space, while creating opportunities for industry participation in the evolving global space economy.
